Water Security for Commercial Agriculture

Many irrigation investments are sized against a source's best year rather than its dependable yield. The result is a scheme that performs for three seasons and then fails in the season when performance matters most financially.
Establishing water security requires four things: a defensible estimate of source yield under drought sequences, a lawful abstraction position, storage sized to bridge demand peaks, and a demand-side plan describing what will be curtailed if the source underperforms.
For boreholes this means proper step and constant-rate testing with drawdown interpretation, not a driller's air-lift figure. For surface sources it means catchment runoff analysis and reservoir routing.
Financiers increasingly ask for this analysis explicitly. Preparing it early converts a project risk into a bankable document.
